WATER IN THE WELL

We’re raising $20,000 by December 31st
to invest in updates and climate adaptations for Sable’s future.

In light of Summer 2025’s unprecedented drought and Vermont’s wildly unpredictable weather patterns with climate change, we are looking to invest in stability and sustainability.

We need a drilled well!
We will also have to update our permits (including Vermont’s Act 250).
This provides an opportunity for us to investigate larger infrastructure changes and shifts that can increase accessibility for both our residency and public programming. (Think: Mini cabins! Larger studio space! Workshops!)

Our estimated budget for the first phase of this work is $30,000. Your support of any size is welcome!

The Sable Project’s mission is to create a space for Art, Land, Community, and our Collective Liberation to flourish. Through our artist residency programs, intensives, workshops, and public events, we welcome people to enjoy healthy food, develop their artistic voices, share their brilliance, and build community.

We rely on contributions from enthusiastic and generous individuals. We work to keep our residency fees low, support BIPOC artists through our BIPOC Artist fund, and maintain that most of our events are free and by donation. As of 2025, we now have a Financial Aid Fund that provides scholarships to artists. It is the support from you, from our close and extended community, that allows us to continue this work year after year.
