Cate Duckwall (she/her) is an interdisciplinary artist currently living and working in Richmond, Virginia. A storyteller at heart, she brings narratives to life through the use of animation, writing, filmmaking, and visual art.

While at Sable, Cate spent most of her time practicing deep listening and observational drawing, making note of her own perspective of how she sees and experiences the world without distractions. These drawings and writings manifested into a series of letters that were sent out to anyone willing to participate in her experiment. All of this work was to supplement research for a larger video project surrounding the idea of entropy that occurs in a place and how that correlates with the spirit of the land.

In September of 2023, Cate will relocate to Berlin, Germany to work as a Production Assistant for a full-service virtual reality studio.
